“It’s extra sweet to put something out that took such a long time to be born. It’s the major theme of my life I guess. And it makes it all the sweeter.

When Lamar and I both lived in the Atlanta area, we took advantage of being in close proximity to each other and collaborated on all of this music. This and more! He has a special something that immediately makes you feel better. His voice is medicinal.

We ended up recording these songs in December 2024 at Flóki Studios on Iceland’s north coast and had them produced by good friend and Soulive co-founder Alan Evans. Throughout the sessions, we also brought in John Morgan Kimock, Weedie Braimah, Melvin Seals, Jason Crosby, Tom Guarna and Jaden Lehman.

Hopefully these grooves will stir your hips and shoulders, these harmonies will stir your emotions, and Lamar’s voice will be the hot tea with honey and lemon to warm you inside.”
